Privacy Policy

Wisheez ("we", "us", "our") operates the Wisheez mobile app and the website at wisheez.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email us at hello@wisheez.com and we'll walk you through it.

1. Information we collect

• Account data — your email, display name, @tag, and (if you sign in with Google or Apple) your social profile name and photo.
• Wishlist content — the wishes, prices, notes, images, and events you add to your lists.
• Payment data — if you upgrade to Premium, our payments processor Stripe handles your card details. We never see or store your full card number.
• Device data — push notification token (if you opt in), platform (iOS/Android), app version, and crash logs.
• Contacts — if you use the "Invite friends" feature, your device shares your contact list with the app on-device only. We never upload your contacts to our servers.

2. How we use it

• To let you sign in, build and share your wishlist, and keep events in sync across devices.
• To send push notifications you've opted into (event reminders, when a friend reserves one of your wishes).
• To generate AI gift suggestions. Your quiz answers (interests, budget, avoid-list, age range) are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI, via Emergent) only to generate suggestions. We don't train models on your data.
• To process Premium subscriptions through Stripe.
• To improve the product, debug crashes, and keep bots and abuse out.

3. Who we share with

We don't sell your data. We share only with the service providers that make Wisheez work:

• Stripe — for Premium subscription billing.
• OpenAI (via Emergent) — for AI gift suggestions.
• Google Firebase / Apple Push Notification Service — to deliver notifications.
• Amazon Associates — when you tap "View" on an Amazon suggestion, you leave Wisheez and land on amazon.com. If you buy something, Amazon pays us a small commission. We don't see what you bought.

4. Affiliate links

Wisheez is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and may participate in other affiliate programs. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. The affiliate relationship doesn't change the price you pay.

5. Your choices

• Make your profile public or private at any time in Profile → Public profile.
• Set each wish to public, friends-only, or private.
• Delete individual wishes, events, or your entire account from inside the app.
• Export your data by emailing hello@wisheez.com.
• Residents of the EU/UK (GDPR) and California (CCPA) have additional rights to access, correct, port, and delete their data. Email us to exercise any of these — we respond within 30 days.

6. Children

Wisheez is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.

7. Security

We encrypt data in transit (TLS). Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. We store nothing we don't need. We'll let you know within 72 hours if we ever discover a breach that affects you.

8. Changes

If we materially change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for existing users, surface the change in the app before it takes effect.
